A Walmart credit card is just like any other credit card. They offer many perks and rewards for making the purchases with their card. For example, you will have access to special discounts at their stores and on their websites. You will also have access to the MasterCard or Visa networks if you have one. With many of the advantages of a Walmart credit card it is no wonder so many people prefer them to other credit cards.
Wal-Mart is an American mega-enterprise which operates a chain of discount department stores, supercenters, and super warehouses from coast to coast. The company was started by Sam Walton in 1962 and incorporated in 1969. So what is a Walmart credit card? A Walmart credit card number is the same as any other credit card number except that it is used with the Walmart store. It can be used at any location where Walmart stores are located. In most cases the card is issued at a participating retail store but some locations issue them directly to the customer.
Each time a customer makes a purchase at a participating retail location, they are required to show their card to the cashier. If the customer does not have a Walmart credit card number, they will only be able to purchase items at the cash register. Now, for a lot of people this does not bother them since they are not in the habit of buying things at a cash register and do not mind waiting a few extra moments to pay for their item. But for others who are in the habit of paying by debit or credit card, this delay can be inconvenient and can cost money, especially when they want an item now and don't have the time to wait for their credit card to get charged.
You can avoid this hassle by obtaining your own Walmart card. There are many different types of cards including gas cards, which allows the owner to purchase gas at certain stations owned by Walmart, along with membership cards which allow them to make additional purchases at specific restaurants located at the Walmart Corporate Campus. There are also the Walmart prepaid visa and master card which are strictly for online transactions only. The best way to obtain your own card is to go online to the Walmart website and fill out the short application form.
Once you fill out the form, you will usually be asked for your Social Security number, your birth date, address, phone number, email address and what type of card number you would like. You will be asked if you want an unsecured or secured card number, how long you wish to maintain your account, how much you would like to spend monthly, and whether you would like to pay annually or monthly. After you complete the application, you will usually be given a password which you will need in order to access your card numbers. Once your security pin is verified, you can then use the card to make your purchases.
Another option is to go to the Walmart website and call the customer service desk to apply for your card. There, you will have to give your Social Security number, your birth date, address, phone number and what kind of card number you would like. If you are applying online, you can simply input your information and pay by credit card. Once you are finished processing your application, you will then be given a Walmart card number which you can use to shop at their retail stores. If you have a Walmart card number, you can avoid having to provide out your personal credit card number every time you visit the store.
