Visa logo credit card is a plastic card that contains Visa and MasterCard brand which is owned by one company. A card having both these companies' logo is a sort of a universal symbol of acceptance for purchases made using these cards. The logo is the exclusive property of Visa and is not available for sale or transfer to others. Thus it provides the customer with protection from fraud.
Though there are many types of credit cards, the most common ones are the MasterCard and Visa. The difference between these two cards lies in their logo. MasterCard is a trademark of Visa, Inc. and both the cards carry the Visa logo which is also displayed on their security labels. The main purpose of both the cards is to facilitate their clients to make purchases. They both operate in the same manner, but in terms of features, they are different.
MasterCard is preferred mostly for its high credit limit. It offers a higher credit limit as compared to other cards. This higher credit limit enables its users to make more purchases without worrying about over limit or late payment charges. Another major advantage of the card is the security feature. It has been specially designed to provide superior security to its users against frauds and theft.
The Visa is preferred mainly because it has a magnetic strip along with the logo which needs to be put on the card before the user can make a purchase. The magnetic strip is considered safer than other security features. In case of security issues, both the cards have equal measures for handling and storing information. They both use the same secure data storage and retrieval methods for storing and transferring account information. Hence the information which is stored in either the MasterCard or Visa remains safe from theft and frauds.
But the advantages which Visa has over MasterCard cannot be easily discounted. First of all, a person who wants to make a purchase using a credit card must possess a valid photo ID. This can be any individual and can be a member of the institution that issued the card. If one does not possess a valid photo ID, his or her purchase will be declined. Hence in such a case he or she will be required to produce another form of ID such as a driver's license or passport. Visa is considered much safer than MasterCard when it comes to this matter.
Visa and MasterCard have also adopted a unique point of sale system known as E-commerce. The system enables a customer to enter a product or service provided by the merchant into a virtual terminal. In this virtual terminal the customer enters the credit card number of the cardholder into the card's memory. The card's software then processes the data and displays it to the cardholder. Once the data is successfully processed, the graphical representation of the product or service provided by the merchant is displayed on the screen in real time.
As mentioned earlier, both Visa and MasterCard use a different point of sale system called E-commerce. The difference refers to the fact that Visa uses its own unique symbol to MasterCard use the logo of Visa. The logos are also used in many other places apart from E-commerce.
A credit card with a Visa logo, therefore, signifies that the cardholder has secured a certain level of protection in transactions carried out with that particular credit card company.
