Does Apple Card build credit? This is the question many are asking after seeing the free trial offer for the credit-card-management program from Apple. The fact of the matter is that this particular credit-card program from Apple does work, but one has to keep in mind that it is free! It's not as if you are going to have to fork over hundreds or thousands of dollars to get yourself started.
To be honest, I got my first account with them about a month ago. I went ahead and filled out all the application materials. I always check the information that they have on their website to make sure it is correct and nothing is missing. I did just that, and then just a couple of days later, I heard back from them. I asked what I missed and they told me that they had received my application.
So, I went ahead and started applying. To my amazement, I was actually approved for one, and I believe that it was the first one ever! I was ecstatic! The next thing I know I had charged some things that weren't mine, and now I'm sitting here with a credit card debt of over $10K. So yes, I did build credit! Not too much though, since I paid my first one back.
Now that I have two accounts, both with Auctiva, I still wonder does apple card to build credit? Well, as I've stated above, it works, but only for a little while. I recommend you go ahead and use your cards to pay for your everyday expenses. Also, make sure you do not spend more than you can afford to pay back each month. You will want to make sure that you pay everything on time and not run up your credit card balance again.
Now, after building credit for quite a while, I am able to qualify for credit cards from Macy's and JCPenny. These are the major department store's in the U.S. Even though I have not gotten a lot of credit cards from these stores, I have had great experiences with them. I have used Macy's rewards card for a variety of things, like gas, groceries and I even got to enjoy their free products! JCPenny is another place where I have done well, using their rewards cards to get gifts, and just paying my bill on time. Both of these places are excellent for building credit, and I recommend you do the same if you're looking for a place to start.
So does apple card to build credit? It really depends on your situation. If you do everything above I've mentioned, then yes I think it builds credit. If you don't do anything else, then no it doesn't either. The key to credit repair is not building too much of it, but instead just repairing what you've built.
