It seems like that every time we turn around, there's another controversy about a sexist apple card. These pink cards are so trendy right now, it's almost funny; and they're even for “heterosexuals” and “cisgenders”. And there's nothing offensive or wrong with that, according to politically correct thinking. I've seen these cards all over the place, and they're usually great fun for everyone involved. I want to take a few moments to show you why these cards can be a real benefit to men and women alike.
Don't You Just Love It When Women Get Cards With Attractive Colors? I'm sure we can all remember a time when a card was advertised as” sexist” because it was pink (remember that?). If you have ever seen one of these cards in a store, even for an instant, you may have said to yourself, “Hm, this girl sure likes to mix it up!”
But wait – isn't that a good thing? Why would a woman – who probably cares more about her looks than anything else – choose a card that was so unattractive? The answer to that is simple. It's a sign of how much she values herself. She wouldn't be caught dead on any other type of card.
This goes to show just how important self-esteem is, especially in the world of modern-day advertising. No matter how offensive or “sexist” a marketing message might be, it has to have some sort of logic to make sense to anyone. And unfortunately, most businesses don't value their own self-worth enough. It's a shame that they don't, because it would definitely help them to attract more customers.
It's a shame that these cards have to exist – especially in a world where – as we all know – beauty is a subjective quality! But it's a necessary evil of modern business. At least until the mass market economy takes over completely.
The upside, however, is that they can actually be quite useful for a while. For instance, you can buy a lovely Christmas present for your husband or boyfriend with one of these cards. So, if you find yourself stuck with a boring old card, what could make it an interesting novelty gift? Perhaps a sexist card, like this one!
Of course, it wouldn't do any harm to add a picture of something fluffy and warm to go with it – preferably with a red bow around the corner. Also, a nice blokey Christmas quilt will go down a treat! You could even make it a point to send him or her one as a “just because” present!
If you've been living in a cave for the past few years, you might remember the scandal that broke about Visa and MasterCard refusing to allow women to buy anything with a male imprint on it. These two giants quickly got back on their feet and decided that their female customers deserved the right to shop on their terms – and that meant putting a pink Visa or MasterCard in their wallets! It was a brave stand by these companies, but a very wise one. So, if you're still bitter about the way women are treated in the world, maybe it's time to put your anger into good use and go out and buy yourself a few of those cards!
